If you want to overlook the beautiful sceneries of Magong Harbor, climbing up the watch tower of Shuncheng Gate is a good choice.

“Qiangu” is a kind of traditional fishing method using beach seine. Some of the nets are about two meters tall and a few hundred meters long. They must be operated by thirty to forty people.

“Baodun” (rock fishing) is a special fishing method used in Penghu. People pile up stones into heaps with openings on the intertidal zone to trap fish using their habits. Using found materials, it won’t upset the ecological resources. It is a very natural fishing method indeed.

Coral stones are formed from the dead coral reefs. In the past, Penghu people used basalt and coral stones as building materials. Therefore, the walls and old residences in Penghu are residences built with coral stones.
