Penghu Turtle Activity in the Lantern Festival and Waian Firework Festival

Waian Fireworks and Lantern Fair: According to the studies, the “turtle offering” during the Lantern Festival in Penghu originated from the belief that the “turtle” was a creature with longevity and spirituality. In the late Qing Dynasty, people held lively parades in Waian to celebrate the festival.

Penghu Running Carnival | Penghu Guided Bicycle Tour

In this beach running carnival, the performances of cheerleaders, creative costumes, and water shows are also presented. 

Collaborating with the bicycle festival held by the Bureau of Tourism, guides are invited to guide cyclists riding through Penghu to see the beauty of tourist attractions along the cycling routes.

4月 - 6月

Penghu International Firework Festival

It is the most representative tourism promotional activity in Penghu. In the festival, fireworks will be released by Xiying Rainbow Bridge. Visitors can feel the glamour at a close distance.

The museum month is held with the collaboration of local cultural museums, such as the Light tour to museums, seminars, DIY and experience activities, and more.

Baisa Silver-strip Round Herring Season

Summer is the season when ships fishing for silver-strip round herrings at Penghu return to their ports. You can watch the beautiful scene of silver-strip round herrings being sunbathed at the production area of Chikan and it is filled with a great fragrance. It you want to taste the freshest silver-strip round herring, come to Penghu in June!

Penghu Long Distance Sea Swimming |Summer Solstice in Taiwan 23.5-Meet you at the Fisher Island Lighthouse Concert

The annual event held at Ju Island provide swimmers opportunities to swim in the deep blue sea and visitors to wander around the magnificent landscape of Penghu Bay. 

It is a geological exploration trip held in collaboration with Hu Jin landmark and elementary school with the help of its little tour guides. The Fisher Island Lighthouse Concert is also a nice accompanying event.

7月

Huxi Folk Toys Carnival – Children’s spring and recycling and environmental protection promotional activities

The carnival aims to promote folk toy culture. Using local materials, people are encouraged to DIY creative toys. The small farmers’ fair is also held. Folk toy experience and challenge will bring happy movements for parents and children through games.

Penghu Autumn Festival

It includes a series of sports activities, seafood festival, and more. The cooler the weather the better. It will make the activities happier.

Iron Man Taiwan Festival |Penghu Winter Swimming Gala

In collaboration with The Most Beautiful Bays in the World annual meeting, these international tourism and sports contests are held, including the Iron Man Taiwan Festival, Gaillardia Islands – Penghu Cross-sea Marathon – Full marathon 42k, Half-marathon 21k, and Mini-marathon 5K, and Penghu Winter Swimming Gala.

FAT Penghu Marathon

FAT Penghu Marathon is a challenge to runners. When running the marathon, participants can also enjoy the magnificent landscapes of Penghu.

Eat Animal Shaped Rice Cakes and Sweet Rice Dumplings

It is a special norm and culture of Penghu. The folks there will “make animal-shaped cakes” and “sweet rice dumplings” on the winter solstice.
